Welcome New Followers

Welcome to the Philosopher's stone. My blog has been running for the last year and a half. I have been a practicing Rastaman since I began this write. I have a love for music, writing, culture and God. The truth to this blog is to find the power of the people. Power is found through unity and ideal. Ultimately a unified ideal can begin a unified identity. Rastafari is a lot more then believing in the herb. It is a faith and a way of living. I have dedicated a lot of this blog to poetry and music. Wisdom is my true passion because it is a field of study that is never ending. I have touched on subjects that matter on ancient hermetic Egyptian wisdom which is the foundation of all world faith and Religion. The truth is that we live in a day in age of what which will begin to be a spiritual awakening. That we are spiritual beings that live a spiritual life. The power of the spirit can power a mind to find what one is called to in life. Spirituality is the power of all humanity. Rastafari is the teaching of all acceptance. That is the belief of a Rastaman. I am in transition with this blog and well my passion is to teach one day. I have yet to bring news source to my blog but decided to start to bring 3rd party source on this site to help gather more culture that involves what a Rasta really stands for. We are the the way of root living and the faith that teaches the system is corrupt. Enjoy reading some material that involves Rasta worldwide. One Love.

About the Edit Unto Your's

As they say in the Big Easy hey y'all . Little did I know that local lingo for New Orleans would become my renewed faith in understanding a new way of life. Big Easy as a sort of a Hakuna Matata lighter sense and page. My names Ryan and people call me Moke for a nick. Heavy in my dance & river days I went by Movement. I like them all. Never needed a Mohawk to rectify my will. Well anyways I just moved back to sunny San Diego after spending the last close to 3 years in Louisiana. Born and raised in San Diego private school the whole 9 yards and a Kaeding of a miss to a field goal. Did some time up in Chico, CA. Fun times, but was still searching on what I wanted to do in life. Dipped down south to get Bourbon dirty while looking to find my calling.. Right? If your going to do it you might as well do it right. Met some fun people, made some memories and actually grew up. Left a lovely girl behind, but hopefully one day we'll be back in mind. Moral of the story I finally found out something I was looking for. What was really going on and is it really 2014 already? I picked up my love for writing and let my thoughts take the wheel. As I was riding upon my journal I knew my higher self was leading me somewhere. Go figure out the roots to my roots. I had a revelation that their was one genre of music I had ventured in but not far enough. Reggae was making its way back to me and I began to remember my love of its simplicity but profound truth. Sure enough my writing was taking me there as well. Tired of the battle amongst Christianity and other world religions I turned to studying nature. Began self teaching Astrotheology and other hermetic wisdom. Then it dawned on me there was a lost world doctrine and way of life that emphasized that nature is the way. Rastafarian. Remembering its misconception of a youth's rebellion I always knew it held more than truth, pure truth. So here I am still dipping my toes in understanding the Rastaman's way knowing my hometown is the place to start. Identity had been important for many but many like myself gave up on what was being taught. The purpose that is driven through my blog is to find a commune in my generation's ideology and bring people back together through the power of spirituality and love for acceptance for one another. A recognition of the empowering One Love. One thing our world has lost touch of is the rooted key of the Rastaman way. That is living life through suppression and instilling self discipline. Wasn't this the path that all eastern and western religions insinuated as being the tool for enlightenment? Yes, but it got misconstrued through its complexity. Heigh-ho back to the roots we should go. So I invite you to follow my blog to begin to learn a lost way of life or to invite you to teach me a thing or two. It is time our generation spoke together through the power of unified identity. Time for a real campaign of change from the people as it should be and come. Time our entire nation legalized the plant that symbolized freedom. Sending Rastaman vibrations outwards for a revival of a Kingdom. Please feel free to add me on facebook Ryan Moquin

UPDATE AS OF 7/19/14 (PURPOSE DRIVEN MESSAGE)

Hey everybody. Sorry for lack of content the last past month I was actually locked up in jail. No need to worry I'm back here to stay and all is well. Anyways I had much time to write and foresee where I wanted to take this blog and in what direction. A lot of posts before were not thought out completely and expression of my emotion. So I took down some. But I have passed that haze and my writing will begin to show. I want this blog to be based on a 5 point structure.

1) To promote Rastafari Doctrine & Way of Life
2) To be a multimedia outlet for all arts combined
3) To promote discussion & eventually through forum
4) To bring together people spiritually
5) And most importantly promote world peace

Thank you for reading and hope you enjoy. In the near future I'm going to begin making videos so the poetry can be better understood. There is a lot of ancient philosophy and wisdom behind the influence of them.
Ok that is all for now. One Love.

The Proverbs, Wits and Wisdom Of Ancestral Africa

The Proverbs, Wits and Wisdom Of Ancestral Africa

The Proverbs, Wits and Wisdom Of Ancestral Africa

Anger-
Anger does nobody good, but patience is the father of kindness.

Assistance-
Not to aid one in distress is to kill him in your heart.

Birth-
Birth does not differ from birth; as the free man was born so was the slave.
In the beginning our Lord created all. With him there is neither slave nor free man, but every one is free.

Boasting-
Boasting is not courage. He who boasts much cannot do much. Much gesticulation does not prove courage.

Borrowing-
Borrowing is easy but the day of payment is hard.

Chance-
He who waits for chance may wait for a year.

Character-
Wherever a man goes to dwell his character goes with him. Every man’s character is good in his own eyes.

Charity-
Charity is the father of sacrifice.

Children-
There is no wealth without children. It is the duty of children to
wait on elders, not elders on children.

Condemnation-
You condemn on hearsay evidence alone, your sins increase.

Contempt-
Men despise what they do not understand.

Covetousness-
If thou seeketh to obtain by force what our Lord did not give thee,
thou wilt not get it.

Danger of Beauty-
He who marries a beauty, marries trouble.

Danger of Poverty-
Beg help and you will meet with refusals; ask for alms and you will
meet with misers.

Danger of Wealth-
It is better to be poor and live long than rich and die young.

Disposition-
A man’s disposition is like a mark in a stone, no one can efface it.

Doing Good-
If one does good, God will interpret it to him for good.

Duty to One’s Self-
Do not repair another man’s fence until you have seen to your own.

Effort-
You cannot kill game by looking at it.

Evil Doer-
The evil doer is ever anxious.

Experience-
We begin by being foolish and we become wise by experience.

Familiarity-
Familiarity induces contempt, but distance secures respect.

Faults-
Faults are like a hill, you stand on your own and you talk about
those of other people.

Faults of the Rich-
If thou art poor, do not make a rich man thy friend.
If thou goest to a foreign country, do not alight at a rich man’s
house.

Favor of the Great-
To love the king is not bad, but a king who loves you is better.

Folly-
After a foolish action comes remorse.

Forethought-
A person prepared beforehand is better than after reflection.
The day on which one starts is not the time to commence one’s
preparation.

Forgiveness-
He who forgives ends the quarrel.

Friends-
There are three friends in this world–courage, sense, and insight.

Friendship-
Hold a true friend with both of your hands.

Future-
Thou knowest the past but not the future.
As to what is future, even a bird with a long neck can not see it,
but God only.

Gossip-
Gossip is unbecoming an elder.

Gentleness-
A matter dealt with gently is sure to prosper, but a matter dealt
with violently causes vexation.

Hate-
There is no medicine for hate.

Heart-
It is the heart that carries one to heaven.

Heathen-
He is a heathen who bears malice.

Hope-
Hope is the pillar of the world.

Ignorance-
Lack of knowledge is darker than night.
An ignorant man is always a slave.
Whoever works without knowledge works uselessly.

Immortality-
Since thou hast no benefactor in this world, thy having one in the
next world will be all the more pleasant.

Injury-
He who injures another brings injury upon himself.

Laziness-
Laziness lends assistance to fatigue.
A lazy man looks for light employment.

Love-
One does not love another if one does not accept anything from him.
If you love the children of others, you will love your own even
better.

Meekness-
If one knows thee not or a blind man scolds thee, do not become
angry.

Mother-
Him whose mother is no more, distress carries off.

Necessity of Effort-
The sieve never sifts meal by itself.

Old Age-
There are no charms or medicine against old age.

Opportunity-

The dawn does not come twice to wake a man.

Patience-
At the bottom of patience there is heaven.
Patience is the best of qualities; he who possesses it possesses all things.

People-
Ordinary people are as common as grass, but good people are dearer
than the eye.

Politeness-
Bowing to a dwarf will not prevent your standing erect again.
“I have forgotten thy name” is better than “I know thee not.”

Poverty-
A poor man has no friends.
He who has no house has no word in society.

Riches-
Property is the prop of life.
A wealthy man always has followers.

Sleep-
Sleep has no favorites.

Strife-
Strife begets a gentle child.

Sun-
The sun is the king of torches.

Trade-
Trade is not something imaginary or descriptive, but something real
and profitable.

Truth-
Lies, however numerous, will be caught by truth when it rises up.
The voice of truth is easily known.

Unselfishness-
If you love yourself others will hate you, if you humble yourself
others will love you.

Valor-
Boasting at home is not valor; parade is not battle; when war comes
the valiant will be known.
The fugitive never stops to pick the thorn from his foot.

Wisdom-
A man may be born to wealth, but wisdom comes only with length of days.
A man with wisdom is better off than a stupid man with any amount of
charms and superstition.
Know thyself better than he who speaks of thee.
Not to know is bad, not to wish to know is worse.
A counsellor who understands proverbs soon sets matters right.

PROVERBS BASED ON THE OBSERVATION OF ANIMALS

Butterfly-
The butterfly that brushes against thorns will tear its wings.

Dog-
If the dog is not at home, he barks not.
A heedless dog will not do for the chase.
A lurking dog does not lie in the hyena’s lair.

Elephant-
He who can not move an ant, and yet tries to move an elephant, shall
find out his folly.
The elephant does not find his trunk heavy.
Were no elephant in the jungle, the buffalo would be a great animal.

Fly-
If the fly flies, the frog goes not supperless to bed.

Fox-
When the fox dies, fowls do not mourn.

Goat-
When the goat goes abroad, the sheep must run.

Rat-
When the rat laughs at the cat, there is a hole.
The rat has not power to call the cat to account.
The rat does not go to sleep in the cat’s bed.

Wolf-
He who goes with the wolf will learn to howl.

The Science of Light - Syncretism (Santos Bonacci Production Preview)

There is Beauty in the Struggle (Poem)

There is beauty in the struggle, can you see it?
Holding my head up high their profiling to try to throw me down in a pit.
Social worker trying to hit me with AA.
I've been sober for a year lady I'm just looking for work today.
I talk God talk so they like to look at me funny.
You think I'm making a point when your judging and I'm saying no thanks to all the fake money.
Yeah Ad -Seg they got a cell and a bed for me.
I just take it as shelter and a place for meditation to his glory.
A doubting Thomas something I used to be.
Weren't ever supposed to shove a halo, but it's just another brick in the wall now can't you see?
I'm just living to point people in a direction.
Getting tired of being treated like I'm some kind of infection.
I got the moonwalk in my back pocket.
But ain't throwing it on YouTube I'm trying to make a point to keep in a locket.
I got dirt about covered up history this city haven't a clue?
Like I was my own CIA surveying a lagoon its seen war now what do you do?
Don't judge a book by its cover.
Now I got you thinking of a lover.
All I got to say if I had a roof and a laptop.
I got the verbatim to false advertisement that could make all of Babylon pop.
So take it for what it is, I'm a street kid about my biz.
I'll find a home again just out makin' a name for myself.
Trippin' on the beauty in the struggle, caught my nigga Cole on the same shelf.

Syncretism as Religion

Syncretism as Religion

What do Robert Cochrane (Roy Bowers), Victor and Cora Anderson, Robert Graves, Gerald Gardner, Manly P. Hall, Johfra Bosschart, Madame Blavatsky, and others all have in common? They were syncretists. Syncretism is the belief that the majority of the world’s religions can all be reconciled; that what they have in common is more than what they do not. Within syncretism is a feeling of harmony, unity, and overall love. Syncretism is not a modern belief, it was shared by ancient cultures – the most well-known being the cross-over gods between the Egyptians and Greeks and also the Celts and Romans. They didn’t see anything wrong with this as either their beliefs, teachings, or their blood told them their gods are of the same origin. Some believe all gods originated from Africa, others the Middle East, and others yet from the Proto-Indo European. Put the cultures of these regions on a timeline and you’ll see that all of the above are right, they just represent different evolutionary periods through early pre-history.

Most definitions found of syncretism call it “an attempt to reconcile different or opposing principles, practices, or parties, as in philosophy or religion.” That word “attempt” is always in the definition no matter where I seem to look.  I suppose it isn’t easy to live in harmony and love, but one needs to do better than just attempt it.  I am coming out of the polytheistic closet – I am a syncretist and an animist. I believe all of the world’s religions stem from animism and it is getting harder and harder for modern scholars to prove otherwise thanks to recent research conclusively linking modern witchcraft and folk magic practices to ancient shamanism which is deeply rooted in animism. If you listen to the descriptions of the pantheons of the different Pagan cultures but do not mention the names of the gods, you will begin to see a pattern. I believe if you take all of these pantheons and cosmologies and create a template that if you stack them upon one another they will match – not perfectly as everything can corrupt and change – but pretty darn close. I am not a pantheist or panentheist as I believe in more than one god, but there is only one sun, one moon orbiting the earth, one venus, one mercury… you get the picture. I am not saying all religion is the same as there are obvious cultural differences that are a large factor, but I am saying they are similar and share the same origins – it is only their evolution over time that has separated them. This is why folk magic (aka witchcraft, aka shamanism) fits so well into any and every religion and why every religion practices it – yes even Christianity.  It is not because folk magic is a practice or a trade devoid of religion, no, it is because it is the root of every religion and therefore inseparable from it no matter how much faith evolves through time.

I believe as many ancient cultures do, that the universe was created from one god who the Greeks believed was pure love and the Celts pure awareness – he had to be destroyed in order to create and so every solar system, planet, and life form in the universe is a piece of that first god. Even scientists will tell you everything is made from nuclear star dust from massive planets to the smallest organism on Earth. We truly are all connected – the Norse called this connection the Web of Wyrd –  in Buddhism it is Indra’s Net. I believe the gods do not have human faces dwelling in a heaven separate from our world, instead I believe our world and the unseen worlds overlap.  I believe the gods so often worshipped in human form are truly the earth, its greenmantle, the sun, the moon, the stars, the planets, and that the fey found in so many cultures are the spirits of plants, animals, and our own ancestors. The gods and spirits are constantly all around us, under our feet, in the sky, on our dinner plates. Our world of modern technology and only going outside to go from place to place has robbed us of our deep bond with our own world and our gods.  So few still feel awe over a sunrise, a full moon bedecked with stars, the budding of spring, the beauty of a wild animal, or the whispers of the wind passing through the trees… So few are thankful when they eat and drink the greenmantle for dinner every night – the wine and vegetables on your plate are the blood and flesh of the Green Man; Dionysus, Osiris, Baldr, Persephone, Tamuz, Jarilo…
Syncretism is not a popular belief in Neopaganism. I have met with many violent responses in sharing my beliefs with others in the Pagan community. So I admit I have been very hesitant to share my cosmology even on my own blog. I do not understand this attitude as syncretism was born in ancient Paganism, the ancients themselves saw absolutely nothing wrong with it and even their literature reflects these beliefs such as the quote shown below from The Golden Ass, a work in Latin from 200 CE.  I think it is mainly an issue of hard and soft polytheists not being able to reconcile their beliefs and a syncretist, who thinks they’re both right, just makes it harder for them!

“First I bathed in the sea seven times, as Pythagoras taught us. Then I called upon the goddess, naming her Demeter, Aphrodite, Artemis, Persephone, Isis, and Queen of Heaven.” “Her hair was long and heavy. A chaplet of flowers crowned her head, over which shone a full moon supported by vipers and sheafs of wheat. Her robe was multicoloured: white, yellow and red. From left shoulder to right hip she was draped in a sash of gleaming black, tasselled, plreated, embroidered with silver stars and red-gold moons. In one hand she held a golden rattle; in the other a golden bowl. Along its handle an asp hissed, ready to strike. She wore sandals of victorious palm fronds. Perfume from her body floated over me.’I am Mother Nature,’ she said, ‘queen of the living and the dead, world, heavens, seas, and underworld. Every people know me by their own name: Artemis, Aphrodite, Persephone, Demeter, Hecate, Ma-Bellona. But in Egypt I am Queen Isis.'”

H.I.M - Speech on War and Unity of All

California 28th february 1968

"Last May, in Addis Ababa there was convened a meeting of Heads of African States and Governments. In three days, the thirty-two nations represented at that Conference demonstrated to the world that when the will and the determination exist, nations and peoples of diverse backgrounds can and will work together in unity for the achievement of common goals and the assurance of that equality and brotherhood which we desire."

"Although our position vis-a-vis the power-blocs is identified with the policy of non-alignment, our past history testifies to the fact that we have always endeavored to cooperate with all nations, without exception. Thus, one of the fundamental principles we have agreed upon at the Addis Ababa Summit Conference gives expression to our fundamental desire to live in harmony and cooperation with all States."

"On the question of racial discrimination, the Addis Ababa Conference taught, to those who will learn, this further lesson:"

"That until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned; that until there are no longer any first-class and second-class citizens of any nation; that until the color of a man's skin is of no more significance than the color of his eyes; that until the basic human rights are equally guaranteed to all, without regard to race -- until that day, the dreams of lasting peace and world citizenship and the rule of international morality will remain but a fleeting illusion, to be pursued but never attained. And also, that until the ignoble and unhappy regimes that hold our brothers in Angola, in Mozambique and in South Africa in subhuman bondage have been toppled and destroyed; until bigotry and prejudice and malicious and inhuman self-interest have been replaced by understanding, tolerance and good-will; until all Africans stand and speak as free beings, equal in the eyes of all men as they are in Heaven -- until that day the African continent will not know peace. We Africans will fight, if necessary and we know that we shall win, as we are confident in the victory of good over evil."

Police brutality or is it....

David and Goliath- The Dreadful Metaphor

So with the latest news reporting on the quote on quote police brutality that has been a 2 sided slide since the dawn of time. It has always been a game of Indians rockin' cowboys. The cowboys came into town and ran shop. Guns at hand we got the toys to play back your band. So it was a bound call unto nature for the native to play back the rock toss game. "Just tossin' back some rock words of wisdom to your abuse of power." The Rasta rebel warrior stood upon this call. A soulful pirate rockin' the back of the parking lot bobbin back to the boys with badges. Yeah I see your game, but I'm just calling a little attention to the entire situation. But respect was always of the matter. You got the power, I'm just here to put you into check. See it was the same game I had myself playing with Greenpeace. Hit the back of the parking lot an hour before noon and get your herbal meditation on. Crack open an enlightenment mint tea, putting a little more ritual against will. Hit the sidewalk pitch your game and stand for yourself. But the vibe I was vibin with Greenpeace was just fishy business over fishy business so I hit them back with a peace out and hit the parking lots to scope shit out myself. The same morality spoken upon the previous posted H.I.M speech he spoke of. I came to reveal that it was always a game of 50/50. Duality kept the life in check. See I had started playing myself rebel pirate as well. Bandanna in my back pocket, I'm pirate can't jah tell? Like I might wipe the print or just laugh off giving a hint. A gangsta trick pullin a lick. A pirate's life it was indeed. It got played more ways in one. But it always came down to morality and what was right and what was wrong? I had a game to play Robin Hood back. But that game was half sitting and half hitting the sack. The latest news was this revolt on this cop who killed a young black man out of St Louis. I didn't even follow the story, but word had it that it sounded like an instinct killing out of self defense and that this copper got caught upon stereotypical pre-judgment before the real story was out. Even the kids all the way out west had demonstrated by standing on the 5 highway in La Jolla this morning to stop police brutality. Then it kicked to an interview with the cop. All I can say is I can read a cold blooded killer when I see one and this was a case of the job had gotten the best of him. I had been ran through the system the past year and I can definitely testify to abuse of power and wrongful police force. I was even continually profiled afterwards for the image I took upon myself. Tackled blindsided just for walking the streets at night by myself. Doing nothing illegal. I was just a man who wanted to live in the image of JAH. A man who wanted to give into his femininity and grow his locs out. After all it brought discipline, patience and wisdom in the end. If I can't live and present myself my creator had imagined me in, I do not need to be judged by you or associated with you. And quite frankly here's some jah jah revelation if you judge others you are not living in his image. So I'm taking this holiday season with just myself and my creator to stand for this birth right. Judge me once shame on you. Judge me twice shame on me. Don't judge a book by his cover. I was just a kid thriving to stay true who liked talking God talk. My story is for my keeping you don't need to loathe in it if you do not please to. I speak truth and truth only.

Spiritual Kinsmen

H.I.M Speech - Spiritual Kinsmen

Knowing that material and spiritual progress are essential to man, We must ceaseless work for the equal attainment of both. Only then shall We be able to acquire that absolute inner-calm, so necessary to our well-being. Whenever conflict arises between material and spiritual values, the conscience plays an important role and anyone who suffers from a guilty conscience is never really free from this problem until he makes peace with himself and his conscience. Discipline of the mind is the basic ingredient of genuine morality and therefore spiritual strength. Spiritual power is the eternal guide, in this life and the life after, for man can reach the summit destined for him by the Great Creator. Since nobody can interfere in the realm of God we should tolerate and live side by side with people of different faiths, In the mystic tradition of the different religions we have a remarkable Unity of Spirit. Whatever religion they may profess, they are Spiritual Kinsmen. While the different religions in their historic forms bind us to limited groups and militate against the development of loyalty to the world community, the Mystics have already stood for the fellowship of humanity ... in harmony with the spirit of the mystics of ages gone by. No one should question the faith of others, for no human being can judge the ways of God.

With the raising of all men to their rightful dignity and honor as individuals, they will be able to regard their fellows, of whatever nation, of whatever race, of whatever religious, linguistic or historic tradition, as equals, without jealousy, without fear fear, without undue pride.

Until bigotry and prejudice and malicious and inhuman self interest have been replaced by understanding and tolerance and good-will...

Haile Selassie I, King of Ethiopia (1892-1975) RAS CHARLES and FRENCH DREAD

Haile Selassie I, King of Ethiopia (1892-1975)

His Imperial Majesty HAILE SELASSIE I, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, elect of God, conquering Lion of the tribe of Judah :

Jacob said in his Benediction almost four thousand years ago that , the scripture shall not depart from Judah, nor the lawgiver from between his feet until Shiloh come.
King Selassie I is the three hundred and thirteen  king of all the kings of Ethiopia and the one hundred and thirteenth king of the christian empire. He is also the 225th in a direct bloodline of the Ethiopian monarch, Menelik being the first.  Menelik was the son of Queen of Sheba and king Solomon who is the son of David king of Israel.

"Prince shall come out of Egypt, and Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hand unto JAH" (psalm 68.vrs:31)

"And one of the elder said unto me, weep not, behold the LION of the tribe of judah, the root of king David hath prevailed to open the book and to loose the seven seals thereof" (rev. 5 ver:5).

On July 23, 1892 Tafari makonnen who later become HIM, Haile Selassie I, the Conquering lion of judah, was born in Ejersa goro, a mountain village outside of Harer  in the year of John. HIM father was Ras Makonnen the cousin of menelik 11, and his mother was Yishimabet who's parents married in 1876.  Upon the death of his mother he (HIM) Haile Selassie as he was then given that title, (Tafari makonnen) was raised by his cousin Ras Imru. He then was sent to live with Emperor menelik 11 in 1906.  On july 31, 1911 he married Wayzaro Menen, the granddaughter of Ras Mikael. She had 3 sons and 3 daughters (it is very important and interesting to know that ).
HIM name means the "power of the Holy Trinity"',  Also note the significance of the number three (3).

HIM is called the "King of Kings" (Negus) and it make it very clear what that title means: It does not matter your race or nationality, the reignship of Jah goes beyond ones nation or culture. Read HIM speech "War" and you will see that the color of the skin has no more significance than the color of the eyes.

HIM also used his authority to work towards righteousness, justice and equality to all African people in exile. Just as the good shepherd gather his sheep so does HIM , Selassie I proved to be like a shepherd for  the children of AFRICA at home and abroad.

None can deny the good words spread by Haile Selassie. Him says are not only for ethiopians, africans, or rastas. But for all humanity. Each one of us can learn studying Him words (see some of his speeches at the bottom of this page).
HIM fighted against racism, poverty, miseducation, violence. He was for religious tolerance, and respect as He said "none can judge the ways of God" (see the "spiritual kinsmen" speech). Him  struggled for african unity and originated the African Unity Organisation. He struggled for his country against Italians. He was the shepherd protecting his sheeps against fascists wolves (see the Marcus Garvey page).

HIM also launched a program to translate Bible from ancient ethiopian scriptures to ordinary ethiopian language. People need to know that Ethiopia was one of the first christian country. Half of the story has never been told. And the other part is often manipulated and disguised...

There is so much we could write and talk about HIM but that would take more than a lifetime to do so. Read Matt. 7 ver 7.

There is nothing more worthwhile and rewarding in life than to work for the benefit of others. One can get more pleasure from giving than from receiving if it is done with LOVE . Those who have had the opportunity to learn should always be at the disposal of those who have not had its benefit and it should not only be for individuals, but for the entier community at large. The words of the Almighty in the Holy Bible say: give and it shall be given unto you: is worth observing in your daily life. It is I firm belief that if you forgot self-love and self-indulgence and break away from all this worldly desires, you will be able to make great contribution to yourself, your family, community and your country.
May the Almighty Jah, the God of Jacob, Abraham, Issac, Moses and Yeshua (Jesus Christ) the son, bless guide and protect you as you walk in his Light.

Anglo-American

I hear people cry
I can hear them in the sky
The gentile times have ended
Anglo-American is the last of the Kingdoms
What is the democracy that they proclaim?
Is it about making people suffer?
Let us cause chaos in Africa
Let us cause tribal killings
Is this what democracy is about?
The CIA terrorises innocent people
The IRA terrorises people
Yet Anglo-America sees them as good
Let us cause suffering among Iraqis
Is this true democracy?
God cries up there
He will soon crush down Anglo-America
He shall establish his perfect Kingdom
So much Injustice in the world today
Who makes terrorists?
America once financed Bin Laden
They once financed Saddam
Were they good by then?
How come they are now viewed as evil?
Mankind need to put an end to wars
Or wars will put an end to mankind
Stop this universal declaration of wars
Stop the support for wars
Wars aren't good irrespective of who causes it
Anglo-America beware
Wars have no fear
But only a threat to our motherland
Sop this universal declaration of wars Anglo-America
You shall be crushed down by Jah
Stop these wars and help the poor
Stop this crusade against Saddam as God will deal with him
More human suffering is what this war will bring
And reduce the human population
Beware

Fear

Fear is the greatest barrier in anyone's life
fear destroys human potential
faith gives courage
courage leads to success
fear is a hindrance to success
fear is a threat to development
fear, the friend of failure
success runs whenever there is fear
fear is not disciplined
he who lives without discipline dies without honour
he who lives with fear is sick
fear is a sickness
fear destroys human intelligence
fear guarantees death
fear is fier
how proud is fear?
Never be overcome by fear
positive thinking destroys fear
humility destroys fear
live clean to avoid fear
think right to avoid fear
fear is a void
fear hides a person's potential
fear is inferior
guilt aggravates fear
do the right and hate the wrong
be at peace with yourself and man
a fear free soceity enhances victory
victory, an enemy to fear
burn and burry fear

Religion

Religion, Religion, Religion
Yes that's the means
The means by which we were sold into slavery
Whites came to our shores with religion
But in the end, they enslaved us
We were made to believe in a merciful God
But were thesr white merchants merciful themselves?
Not at all
They brought with then white idols
and they called these images of saints
They made us worship these images
But to them our cly images were evil
And according to them, the supreme God hates them
We were made to kill ourselves
All in the name of religion
Some of us fought in crusades and killed our brothers
we even killed our blood brothers
All in the name of religion
we were taught how to commercialise religion
What a wicked teaching this is?
Today,my black brothers exploiut others in the name of religion
The so called reverend ministers raped our sisters
And they even raped our wives and mothers
All in the name of religion
False religions now on the increase
Religion is making the poor poorer
And the rich are gettin richer
Pastors and Reverend Ministers now live in a clover
What has religion odne for us?
So many killings in the name of religion
So many violence in the name of religion
Exploitation of innocent blacks in the name of religion
Religion, the means by which we were sold into slavery
Yes, look out for false prophets and so called men of God
These men can kill you in the name of religion
Beware of them
Babylon the great has fallen and Jah's Kingdom rules.

Never give up

Never give up my brothers
Never give up my sisters
The going might get tough
And make you feel like being at the end of the road
But never give up
There might be ups and downs in life
But never give up
Always think you can make it if you try
And never give up
Give off success and it will come
As man thinks so is he
No matter what people say about you
Never give up
Lift yourself high
Rise from the mires and hitches of life
Rise as high as the very stars themselves
Forget about giving up
Be humble in all your dealings
If you know the world you know the greatest men all had humble beginnings
Life mihgt push you to the wall
But never give up
You can make it if only you want
That man at the top made it because he wanted
Life might lash you
But never give up
Put your trust in Jah
Think positive
Never give up
You're through

Education

education is the key
god has even educated the bee
it makes honey
and you can sell for money
yes, this is a vital tool
a vital tool in the development of every nation
education shoulde be a right
and not a privilege
educate the man
and educate the woman
the poor needs education
likewise the rich
he who has no education has no best friend
because it is the only true best friend
and even follows you to the grave
education gives knowledge
knowledge gives privilege
knowledge is power
grab education
it's a crime to be deprived of it
there goes education
hey! grab it
education needs you
illiteracy is a disease
literacy is joy
educate a man and you educate an individual
but educate a woman and you educate a whole nation
the sayings of dr. kwegyir aggrey
get brains, get learning, go to school, learn
brother marcus says so
spend as much time as you can in learning
because there is joy in it
that says confucious
there is a key to success
that is not the bee
have it and open the gate to success
education must be maade availble to all
rich or poor

IMF

the international monetary fund
the organisation that devours africa
the lion that devours mother africa
you seem to love mama africa
yet you destroy her with your policies
imf, the develish organisation
the organisation responsible for africa's woes
with your deadly policies you have destroyed mama
africa is your prey, deadly predator
oh! devilish and evil moneatary fund
you have made the imperialists rich
this you've done at the expence of mama africa
evil internationa monetary fund
you have reduced africa to nothing
and her ecenomy you have ruined
you have even devalued her currency
and it looks insignificcant in the world
oh! why vcause so much suffering among us?
what at all has africa done to you?
today it is the implementation of academic user fees
and tomorrow it is another
how long will you devour africa?
my mother cries because of you
how long will you annihilate my family?
the roaring lion imf
you are evil
you have destroyed our education
but you always say bravo to our education
you have destroyed our economy
yet you keep on saying kudos to our economists
you always lie to us that our economy is booming
what an evil thing to do imf?
you don't want africa to develop
thus you have destroyed her education
the most vital tool in her development
you've taken all our gold
yet you give us money as loans
this is criminal and illegal
and what pains mama most
the deadly conditions that go with these loans
our leaders who don't succumb to you, you call dictators
they aren't dictators at all
they only hate evil
evil and devil
yes! that is the meaning of imf
leave mama alone, evil one

Repatriation

I am worried
and i am so scared
my black brothers are being maltreated
they are being maltreated oin foreign lands
some of them got here as a result of slavery
they now don't know where they come from
this makes it difficult for them
they thud don't know where they are going
my black brothers are scattered
they want to come home but fear
fear haas gripped them
they see themselves as strangers on their own land
they are seen as foreigners by their own brothers and sisters

Blacks

truth crushed to earth will rise again
thanks to william bryant for such a philosophy
the truth about black people has been changed
blacks have been made to think that everything black is evil
we've been made to believe that the black is dunce
blacks now feel inferior
satan is said to be black
every invention is said to be from whites
now we've discovered the truth
the first medical doctor was imnohep,a black
the first heart surgeon was a blackman
the gas inhaler was made by garret morgan
the first clock was made by b. banker
the shampoo headrest was made by c.o bailiff
the ironing board was constructed by sarah boone
the lawnmower by burr in 1892
the elevator device by h. cooper in 1895 & 1897
do you know what?
the cotton dropper was by w.h richardson
yes! this is the truth
we've been made to believe that christopher columbus discovered jamaica
foolish, this is false
for west indians had already settled there
we've been made to throw away our culture
our history is distorted
the black is equally as good as the white
keep you culture,africans
stop selling your culture
civilisation is from africa
can you hear me?
blacks made america what it is today
and blacks nade britain what it is today
be proud to be black
black is beautiful
blacks can become white
but no white can become black
blacks, what a unique people

Mother Africa

oh! mother africa
oh! my mother africa
do not cry everybody thinks you are not good
my mother africa
but me, i love you
you are poor, but i love you
africa,africa
you are pretty
your body is full of minerals
and we are proud of you
my mother africa
in my opinion, you are the kindest of all mothers in the world
i say this because of wars often caused by your children
you are hurt,saddened and depressed
you still love all your children
i will talk about your wonders to every man black and white
my mother africa
you are unique and wonderful
you have produced a lot of great men
kwame nkrumah, jomo kenyatta, haile selassie
marcus garvey, martin luther king, malcolm x
yaa asantewa and others
i will love you forever
love, my mother

Destiny

my destiny is in my hands
and so is yours
you have the right to decide your destiny
and so do i
your destiny is not to suffer
you caused the suffering yourself
your destiny is not to live in poverty
it is your own doing
it is due to your own mistake
destiny,destiny
i want to rule my destiny
yes! i now rule my destiny
i now have it in my hand
everyone has got the right to decide his own destiny
in this judgement there is no partiality
the sayings of bob marley
refrain from illusions
insist on work and not words
paitently search for divine and scientific truth
do you want a better destiny?
then wake up from your slumber
wake up from your sleep
have feasible dreams
have good visions
work towards it
you have the right to choose success as your destiny
the rich decided their destiny
the poor decided their destiny
thesufferers decided their destiny
destiny is not fixed
you were never born with a destiny
false teachings about destiny
you can decide your own destiny
decide a better destiny with determination
educate youself to fit in this world
destiny,i now rule mine
destiny, you rule yours
destiny, we all have ours in our hands

The Philosophy of Activism

Activism consists of efforts to promote, impede, or direct social, political, economic, or environmental change, or stasis. Various forms of activism range from writing letters to newspapers or politicians, political campaigning, economic activism such as boycotts or preferentially patronizing businesses, rallies, street marches, strikes, sit-ins, and hunger strikes. Research is beginning to explore how activist groups in the United States and Canada are using social media to facilitate civic engagement and collective action. This excerpt was pulled from Wikipedia and analytically explains the systematic process of the act of activism. The truth behind activism is that it is built upon role playing which leads to ritual. Activism is a sales marketing function that is used to implement will upon society.  It can entail pitching statistical data and "awareness", taking down information, utilizing symbolism to implement a message, surveying and surveillance, demonstrations and such forth. Activism is true risky business. It is a ladder game of undercover work. Some activism is good intended work and other activism is infiltrated with greed and corruption as well. Another strive for a power game. I do not doubt there is a direct connection with some activist organizations and the Center of Intelligence Agency. It wouldn't come as much of surprise if you took the time to think it out for yourself that this was probably the stepping stone process that the CIA took to gather intelligence from on a street level. The bigger concern I have is how can some non-profit organizations advertise themselves as independent organizations completely funded by the people when they are twisting truth and obviously have government affiliation which subsides their work to be government approved. Activism is like a trade off the government had with all the enlightened individuals that knew they had the power to make a change. It was like yeah you guys outsmarted the system, but hey we got a dope job for you just work undercover, stay amongst these stipulations and we won't bother each other. Hey you can even help us write some laws. Greenpeace how can you not be government affiliated yet you still write proposition? You write law for crying out loud. You help implement law. Greenpeace was having me pitch ridiculous statistics like fisherman kill 100 million sharks a year. I'm sorry that is not the case. Has sensationalism gotten the best of activism as well? I bet MLK would be real proud.

Desperation- (Poem)

A sweet disposition, offering a lighter sense of cognition.
A regulatory for some. How often do thee come?
A sunset held in time, sorry for finding myself upon rhyme.
An intellect too good for its own intuition.
Sitting, waiting, wishing never gave into manipulation.
Ah ha! I overstand thy own fault added upon a grain of salt.
A phone call ignored, highly doubt it was missed upon or snored.
Fine I'll accept my call upon my own will to claim.
A hill must hiked to find royalty against fame.
Not that I ever desired either, but a life like is better than shame.
JAH it can be misunderstood for what I hoped may could.
Peace & harmony was brewed upon your own wood.
A flower has been picked and wished upon.
Can your spirit guide them and find myself calm.
I guess it has been nailed before once against his palm.
Shalom is the Rastaman way & belief.
Can yee pardon my own sense of a lesser man's grief.
I have come this far too only feel betrayed once again.
Back to the meditation asking for a when.
You know I'm no monopoly man out to play.
Lost it all so I can begin to say.
Will I ever be forgiven and sought out as a hero.
Or shall I call it quits and hail my soul all to Nero?

An introduction to Rastafari by Ras Charles and French Dread

An introduction to Rastafari by Ras Charles and French Dread

The aim and "why" of Rastafarian faith

We must look to the almighty Jah, thank God who has raised man above all creatures and endowed him with reason and intelligence.
We must at all times put our trust and faith in Him and he will not desert us or permit us to destroy ourselves or humanity that He created in His image. We must examine ourselves and look deeply in our souls. We must become something we have never been before. We must become bigger that we have been, greater in spirit, more courageous, and larger in our outlook.
As His majesty said, we must overcome our petty prejudices, even if the weight of history is heavy, owing our ultimate dedication or allegiance not to any nation or country, but to our fellow men within the human community and become member of a new race, the true race: the human race.

What is Rastafari

Rastafari is a movement of black people who know Africa is the birthplace of mankind, all mankind. It is a twentieth century manifestation of God that enlightened our pathway towards righteousness and is therefore worthy of reverence.
Rastafari recognizes Africa as the central origin of religious history, culture, science and technology. Africa, symbolized in the scriptures by Ethiopia (I-thiopia) is an emotional magnet for many Africans, that is calling us home to the continent which our ancestors were taken by force from more than three hundred years ago, during slavery, the black holocaust.
That call has never been felt more deeply than by members of the Rastafari faith. Rastafari wants all people, especially black people, to know that we are Africans and to develop a sense of pride and integrity in ourselves, knowing that our heritage is of the noblest of mankind and that we are in fear of no man.
All people, especially Black people, are Africans and Africa is the birthplace of mankind. We must re-culture ourselves so we can have a sense of pride, in the turning from Occidental culture, and taking into ourselves the power of our African culture, which has been hidden from us for so long. As it is written, Africa awaits the creator and Rastafari.
See I and I selves as positive warriors in the battle for redemption and reconstruction of our mother continent. See I and I selves as Jah masons, who build and don't destroy like Babylon do..
To accomplish this, we cannot confront the occident with there armonition to win, our only hope is for us to use the mental power of our African culture to unite ourselves and overwhelm the negative aspects of Occidental culture where ever it impedes our progress and enlightenment. It doesn't mean that europeans or whites or any color are bad, as we are all Jah creatures, but people shall know that Babylon is going wrong and will deceive them.
Creating divisions, ie among races, is the rule of Babylon. So racism has nothing to do with Rastafari. "United we stand, divided we fall".

History and prophecyThe birth of the movement of Rastafari can be officially fixed in Ethiopia during the coronation of the prince Ras Tafari Makonnen (Haile Selassie) on November 2, 1930. This was no ordinary event in Jamaica because a year earlier Marcus Mossiah Garvey had a prophetic vision, seeing a king be crowned in Africa.
After the coronation of His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I (Power of the Trinity), several individuals searched the Bible for confirmation and found it in the Psalms: "A Prince shall come out of Egypt, and Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hand unto Jah". The prophecy was fullfilled and these people were the first Rastafarians.
Apart from carrying the legal title "King of Kings, Lord of Lords, conquering Lion of the tribe of Judah" that is written in Revelations, Haile Selassie is the 225th descendant of King Salomon, son of David, and the Queen of Sheba.

Many times people have asked what proof does Rastafarians have to point to Haile Selassie as our Savior. Look at Revelations 5 verse 5, Revelations 19 verse 16, Revelations 22 verse 16 and Psalms 87:4, Ezekiel 30, Epistle to Timothy, Revelation 19, 22, Psalms 9,18, 68, 76,and Isaiah 9.
When HIM returned from exile, in 1941, further proof was found in Revelations17:14. It is written that “ They shall make war with the lamb, and the lamb shall overcome them, for he is Lord of Lords and King of Kings and they that are with HIM are called and chosen and faithful”. So the Rastafarians of Jamaica must always be honored and praised as the vanguard of African resistance movement from which we must be entirely and eternally grateful.

The early Rastas come from the worst possible slum which no one could ever imagine were often beaten, harassed, and imprisoned. The movement went through a relatively peaceful time maybe during the 1930’s or 40’s. But in the 1950’s and towards the ’70s the movement faced continuous and increased prosecution and harassment from the middle and upper class of Jamaica society and was regarded as an outcast. They in turn regard the society as Babylon, which is evil. It is the oppressor and not their home, but a place where they were captive, and until they return to Africa there will be no peace. They were also discriminated against by fellow Jamaicans and constantly arassed by the police and attacked by the media. The movement at this time was also growing in small numbers across the Caribbean, U.S. and especially in England. The Black Power Protest in the U.S.A. in the 1960’s also strengthened the movement. Because of it’s dynamic nature of the movement the belief and the language vary from group to group and from area to area. By the mid1970’s however, the movement took a dramatic turn with the rise of reggae and his most famous representative Bob Marley

Nowadays, many people accept Rastafari, but some are afraid to really project it in their own way because of what society teaches. And some of them through struggles allow themselves to become what they are.

The Rasta worship and Symbols

Like any spirituality, Rasta has its own traditions and symbols:

Dreadlocks: they have several meanings. First, they are a part of the biblical Nazarene vow, who prohibits to shave and comb the hair. (But it is not the dreadlocks who makes someone a rastaman, and some Rastas don't wear dreadlocks).
The locks, because of their appearance, symbolizes the roots of the man, and his spirituality, the link with Jah. As Marcus Garvey said, "a man without knowing of his past is like a tree without roots". They can also be seen as a symbol of the Lion, Haile Selassie I.

The Ganja, "healing of the nations', also known as hemp, cannabis, or marijuana, is used as a holy sacrament by Rastas in many ways. The legend says that the Holy Herb was found growing on the King Solomon's grave.
Use of herb has his source in the Bible: "Thou shalt eat the herb of the field." (Genesis 3:18), "eat every herb of the land." (Exodus 10:12), "Better is a dinner of herb where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred there with." (Proverbs 15:17), "He causeth the grass for the cattle, and herb for the service of man." (Psalms 104:14)
Rastas smoke herb to meditate, symbolizing the burning bush, and for his curative properties (ie asthma). Herb can be eaten or infused. His seeds are very nutrious. Hemp is also used to make clothes, shoes and ropes.

Rasta flag: The red, yellow, green are the colors of the Rasta flag. The red symbolizes the blood of black people, the yellow the stolen gold and the green the lost lands of Africa.
The Rasta flag can also be seen during coptic celebration in the motherland Ethiopia. These colors are too on the senegalese flag, from where thousand of slaves were deported, transiting by the Goree island.

The star of David: The star of David is the symbol of the linkage between HIM Haile Selassie and David. When HIM make the Solomon seal with his hands, you can see that it looks like the star of david. Also, the Rasta consider themselves like the Israelites in exile in Babylon. The star of David is the symbol of Israel.

The Conquering Lion and the Lamb: they both symbolize HIM Haile Selassie according to the Revelations and the opening of the seven seals. They are two faces of a same reality, the Alpha and Omega.

Keep on Truck'n the Motto of the Jam

Sorry for the lack of content lately. Things for me have still been up in the air. Definitely has been the hardest year of my life this past year, but I can share something that I feel confident about. I'm truly beginning to feel like my old self. I'm talking the self I used to be before high school. I have so much to prove and so much to explore it was a necessity for me to find the me that could take on the world once again. Conquering addiction was an ultimatum for me if I were to prove that possible. Cigarettes are the last on my agenda, but hey American spirits are cutting them back :) Anyways here is a jam a homie shared. Enjoy and more writing will be on the way soon. One love. Remember the colors of the season.

Stipulation, Just Gangsta Conversation

A rule of thumb. Something to play you dumb. A 'yeah' to blow you off just to let you know back it don't really matter. Aight cool, I'll just catch you on the latter? Yeah, but hold on for a minute. I didn't just buy that, right? Buy what? Your pitch. Oh yeah I'm really just on my hustle to try and see another day. Wait say what? Yeah you know what it do? Shit fa sho I hear yeah my dude. So what's the word with it? Well you want the truth? Of course or what's left of it. Well shits fucking rigged head to toe. Oh yeah? Yeah I'm talking Thriller be Bonds and the whole damn CIA be in on 'em. Like this ain't no fine bitch named Carrie sporting hotlines on Showtime. Yaddadamean. I'm talking young cats on the corner trying to throw some shit over their shoulder. I'm sayin lets kurk to the spot and roll hot. Like name, age and what it do? A little early poll to help write a law or 2. I'm talking the tea party be the green party and the green party be the tea party so I guess it just fits them accordingly when they ritualistically drink green tea every morning. So activists are legislative law writers but here is the dirty tie. So I guess I got stipulated suspicion on the number one non-profit being advertised as 100% independent could very well be government funded. Wouldn't that be some shit? I mean shit those were like the last doors I walked through when I thought to myself I must have figured it all out. Suppress to mindless labor their bound to offer you a nice pitch at the end of your route. Hit the streets to lay down some activists means. But I caught under covers and familiar faces set up. More shit was going on then I was being formally aware of. Nonetheless I kicked cold and threw a peace and said I'm out. I'm not duckin to stand for peace and steppin on people toes. This is the law people. You can't stop people when there walking into the store because it is considered harassment. (There about their business) But on the way out of a store you can stop people. (Because there running into your business I presume) Nonetheless what I was getting paid to do was harassment. Fishy business over fishy business? Yes. Do I have the will to fact check this organization and throw it on headlines. Pay me, I'm done doing the dirty work for free. Otherwise I'm moving on from them and you have your inside opinion relayed to you for free. The sad truth is that most people would just say we shoulda knew. But I always protested with a better late then never. I guess its just the little bit of activism I got left in me.

No Longer Associated with Greenpeace

No longer associated with Greenpeace. Reputation means more to me. Keep your money in your pockets and mouths shut and their reputation of being no good. Leave this status alone, please & thank you. Cause I'm talking Babylon going to fall with their own style. Undercover work, it was always worth the while. Rasta shall conquer all with a smile.

I'm out of the inner circle so if your interested in true non-profit work to create something better, you can contact me at ryanmoquin@yahoo.com

I need faces they won't remember or recognize. One time interaction to pass on information to create a better nation. That's all the help I need. Sales over donations was a good formula to mix up a nation.

I never saluted to a fascist reformation. Only to a higher mind trinity that guided a world wide nation under JAH.

Confidence is Ambition

Confidence is key. It actually is the key. It unlocks all possibility. But like with any key it can be tricky to getting it unlocked. Some people are prone to it easier than others. But the real truth of confidence is not just knowing how to keep it, but more importantly and more appropriately knowing how to use it. The thin line was always drawn between cockiness and leadership. It probably took conquering one to achieve the other. Roots kept the motto of the way true to its word. Positivity was always key. It was the way to express confidence humbly. I had my first few days at Greenpeace and all I could share was positive vibes, truth and worthwhile. A little wake on ambition was being driven. I had all the reason to be. It was surly time. After all Rasta carried the confidence of the Lion of Judah. The true conqueror.

The Great Truth of Philosophy

The great truth of philosophy is that at the end of the day destiny does exist. It is an argument that can not be reversed if you really think about it. We are all bound to what we are all bound to. Life is a ride we must ride and endure and gather strength from. The finger should never be pointed for it is a learning experience for all. Sometimes in life it is best to just let be and simply pray. Sometimes it is all we can do. For prayer is the best action one can make. It is an action that asks for more to take place. But I had come about with a lot of wonder and it was time to leave another one. A lot still didn't make sense, but I knew I needed to carry on. We all had the power to dream and make it possible. A destiny just brought it all together. If you dream and believe you shall surly succeed.

Take a pink sunset for example and wonder on its beauty.
How can a life like this begin to run simply through me?
A lot can make a person begin to question God.
But certain times in life he can prove to you there far from odd.
Head up, chin up he's a little bit of a militant man.
But he always shows you love over some humorous that will only help you can.
What to think, what to do? Sometimes only 2 hands and a bow is the best thing you can do.
Faith is the key to overcome any doubt inside of you.
